What is a Supermoon?
The Moon’s distance from the Earth is not always the same, and this causes variations in the gravitational attraction between the Moon, Earth and Sun.
When a full moon occurs close to a point of its closest approach to the Earth (known as the perigee of the Moon) its distance from our planet becomes much smaller than the usual one. This is when a 'supermoon' occurs.
The full moon on 5-6th May 2012 is a Supermoon.
So what can you do on a supermoon?
